Vogue refers to her as “One of the most adored poets of our time.” Sophia Thakur is an award-winning, generational, genre-bending talent. Her spellbinding performance weaves poetry and music into a shape that has not been seen before.

Masterfully blending jazz, rhythm, and poetry, Sophia captivates her audiences into pindrop silence and carries them on an intricately crafted, musical journey through their own hearts and feelings.

Although she has only just begun releasing her music, for the last decade Sophia Thakur has grown a cult following from her magical live performance experiences, selling out her headline shows at The Jazz Cafe, Bush Hall, Omeara, and The Lower Third, whilst performing on world-renowned stages including Glastonbury, Abbey Road Studios, The Royal Albert Hall, The Rockefeller Center, TEDx (twice) and Sky Arts TV.

Acclaimed by the BBC as “The Poet of this Generation”, Sophia has cemented herself as a generational storyteller and voice of the heart. While My City marks the beginning of her solo music journey, her art has already been sought after and performed on tracks with artists such as Jacob Banks, Nao, Tiana Major9, and Limoblaze.
